Lauren Hirshon is an organizational change and transformation consultant for governments, nonprofits and businesses. She is currently the Director of Operations and Development for an applied research and advisory program at Harvard and a Lecturer in the Wharton school. Several times a year she consults at Wharton’s Executive Education Program and coaches senior executives from global organizations to hone their leadership skills.

Previously, Lauren served as the Director of Consulting at the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government where she worked with governments, civic groups and nonprofits to help them look at old problems in new ways and enhance their impact. Before that she spent six years at the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board, a non-profit organization designed to align the skills of the labor force to meet the needs of industry. During her tenure there she gained extensive experience around workforce strategy, policy, fundraising and advocacy. She also worked on a presidential campaign and for several nonprofits.

Curious by nature, Lauren has a broad set of interests and areas of expertise, including: organizational development, change management, group and team dynamics, and public administration. Lauren has been identified as one of Philadelphia’s Emerging Connectors by Leadership Philadelphia. She received her B.A. from Harvard College in Psychology with a minor in French, and her Master’s Degree in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania with certificates in Leadership and Management, Global Studies, Practitioner of Change, and Sustainable Development. Outside of the office Lauren serves as a board member for two organizations and plays on touch football, basketball and softball teams.
