Substantially doing the classic summer things: a little back yard this and that, a great family trip to San Diego (and yes, the Zoo is a trip in itself), and the inevitable surprise that it's all over so quickly.

Partly there was a chance to summarize where I think our "movement" is now, and the "sobering challenge" it faces for the future.

I enclose these partly because my wife thinks it only fair that you see a picture taken somewhat more recently than the high school graduation pictures we've tended to use in the past.

Let me know what you think this article http://www.3ecompass.net/dotlrn/file-storage/view/public/Mechling_PCIO.pdf) gets right -- or wrong -- about "the difficult and dangerous territory of cross-boundary transformation".

You'll have the opportunity to add to the debate at our November 14-15 event on the Leadership and Politics of Cross Boundary Reform. Watch this space for more announcements on speakers and agenda.

Regards, and welcome back...
